Issue/Rationale

This project is listed in the 2011/2012 Educational Facilities Plan. The award of a construction project in excess of $25,000.00 requires School Board approval.

The bid opening was held Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. The project had eight (8) bidders and all bidders met the bid requirements.

Recommended Action

Award the construction contract to Thomas May Construction Company, Inc., the low bidder meeting specifications, the base bid in the amount of $549,000.00.

Financial Impact

The low bidder meeting specifications, Thomas May Construction Company, has a total bid award of $549,000.00. These funds are available and budgeted in the Educational Facilities Plan.
